Give Thanks

Come you thankful people come

and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?  Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”  And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”
Luke 17:16‭-‬19 NKJV

1. Thanks is Appropriate
It's the right thing to do.
It is expected by God and others.
It is good manners, but more than that, it is an expression of faith.

2. Thanks Acknowledges God.
"because when they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God,  nor were thankful , but became futile in their thoughts,  and their foolish hearts were darkened. " Rom 1:21

3. Thanks Anticipates God's Miraculous Supply
And He took the seven loaves and the fish and gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude.
Matthew 15:36 NKJV

4. Thanks Appreciates God's Work of Redemption

He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
Luke 22:19 NKJV

5. Thanks Aligns us with God’s Will

The Romans Road Part 4

The Terms of the Gospel (The Good News!)

God, as the Creator is the Judge
He defines what is right and wrong
He judges wrong and rewards right
He loves His creation so He seeks to release mankind from the sentence of our wrong, which is eternal and spiritual death. God is not willing that any should perish.

"Evolution is not exactly a new concept. Although some religious groups still object to the idea that life started in the ocean and evolved into modern creatures,
philosophers have grasped the theory since the era of Ancient Greece. ... Anaximander formulated a theory on the origin and evolution of life."
Source www.businessinsider.com/ancient-greek-knew-about-evolution-2016-3

Rom 1:18-32
The world is obsessed with the idea that there is no God that we are accountable to.
Atheism and Pantheism throw God out of the picture and worship the creation as the final authority.
Pantheism says we are all God. Atheism says there is no God and in effect makes the universe God.
Science believed that matter was eternal until they discovered the Big Bang, the Beginning, that requires a designer
They try to negate the idea of a loving God by suggesting that we just need to accept each other’s differences.
God is diverse in loving all races, tribes, nations and tongues, but the world wants God to allow sin, something He cannot do.

God loves the sinner, of all persuasions.

God hates sin, of all kinds.

5 Terms We Must Understand:

1. Righteousness – all that God demands and approves ultimately found in Christ Himself.

2. Sin –

a. Transgression – overstepping the boundary Ps 51:1, Rom 2:23

b. Iniquity, an act inherently wrong Rom 1:21-23

c. Error-a departure from the right Rom1:18, 1 John 3:4

d. Missing the mark – a failure to meet the divine standard – Romans 3:23

e. Trespass – the intrusion of self-will into divine authority Eph 2:1

f. Lawlessness or spiritual anarchy 1 Tim 1:9

g. Unbelief – or an insult to the divine veracity John 16:9

Sin –
1.) originated with Satan
Is 14:12-14

2.) Entered the world through Adam Rom 5:12

3.) was and is universal (Christ alone is the exception) Rom 3:23, 1 Pe 2:22 4.)

4.) Incurs the penalties of spiritual and physical death Gen. 2:17, 3:19; Ezek 18:4,20; Romans 6:23

5.) Has no remedy but in the sacrificial death of Christ Acts 4:12; Heb 9:26  availed by faith Acts 13:38-39

Sin summarized:
A.) An act, the violation of, or want of obedience to, the revealed will of God ;
B.) A State, absence of righteousness
C.) A Nature, enmity towards God

3. Redemption – means deliver by paying a price – Christ fulfilling the OT types and prophecies of redemption

3 Greek Words

A. Agorazo, to buy in the market-
man is viewed a slave sold under sin (Rom 7:14) and under sentence of death (Ezek 18:4, John 3:18-19, Rom 6:23), but subject to redemption by the purchase price of the blood of the redeemer 1 Cor 6:20, 7:23, 2 Pe 2:1, Rev 5:9, 14:3-4,

B. Exagorazo – to buy out of the market, ie to purchase and remove from further sale (Gal 3:13, 4:5, Eph 5:16, Col 4:5, speaking of the finality of the work of redemption.

C. Lutroo, to loose or to set free – (Luke 24:21, Ti 2:14, 1 Pe 1:18) noun form lutrosis, Lk 1:68, Heb 9:12, deliverance as to set a slave free (Luke 21:28, Rom 3:24, 8:23
Christ paid the price and Holy Spirit makes deliverance an actual experience. Rom 8:2

4. Propitiation – that which expiates or propitiates, or the gift which procures propitiation. Used in the NT for the “mercy seat” or place of atonement (Heb 9:5) The place where the atoning blood was sprinkled on the Day of Atonement.

Judgement executed changed the Judgement Seat (tablets of the law in the Ark) into a Mercy Seat (Heb. 9:11-15) the covering of the blood(Jn 1:29), a Throne of Grace (Heb 4:14-16) place of communion, (Ex 25:1-2). Rom 3:25-26

5. Justification – Rom 3:28 – dikaioo – to declare righteous, to justify, i.e. The believing sinner is treated as righteous because Christ, who knew no sin, bore his sins on the cross, being made sin for us…that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

2 Cor 5:21 Justification is an act of divine reckoning, an act of accounting.
The judicial act of God whereby He justly declares and treats as righteous the who believes in Jesus Christ. The Judge declares the justified believer to have(Rom 3:31) nothing laid to his charge (Romans 8:1, 31-34).

The Romans Road Part 3 - Salvation

Romans 3:21-4:25

Romans –
The ABC’s of Christian Education

4 Sections
1. Introduction 1:1-15
2. Doctrine of Salvation – 1:16-8:39
3. Dispensation of Grace – 9:1-11:36
4. Practical Christian Living – 12:1-16:27

Salvation implies:

Deliverance
Safety
Preservation
Healing
Soundness

Salvation encompasses all of the God’s redemptive acts and processes:

Justification, Redemption,
Grace, Propitiation
Imputation, Forgiveness,
Sanctification, and Glorification!

Salvation in 3 Tenses

1. The Believer has been saved from the guilt and penalty of sin – Luke 7:50; 1 Cor 1:18; 2 Cor 2:15; Eph 2:5,8; 2 Tim 1:9

2. The believer is being saved from the habit and dominion of sin –
Romans 6:14, 8:2, 2 Cor 3:18, Gal 2:19-20, Phil 1:19, 2:12-13, 2 Th 2:13

3. The believer will be saved at the Lord’s return from all bodily infirmities that are the result of sin and God’s curse upon the sinful world – Romans 8:18-23, 1 Cor 15:42-44 – and brought into entire conformity to Christ – Rom 13:11, Heb 10:36, 1 Peter 1:5, 1 Jn 3:2,

Salvation is by grace through faith, is a free gift and wholly without works – Romans 3:27-28, 4:1-8, 6:23, Eph 2:8,
The Divine order is first salvation, then works. Eph 2:9-10, Ti 3:5-8

The Righteousness of God is all that God demands and approves.
It is obtained by imputation. God declares us righteous when we believe in Christ as our Lord and Savior.
The word for “righteous” is also translated just or justified. In the Roman courts a judge could declare a person “righteous” or “justified” even when guilty.

Healing is a function of the Holy Spirit working through believers. 1Cor 12:9
It is an advance touch of resurrection power released by God in accordance with His will and plan.
Jesus healed all that were brought to Him.
The sick are to call for the elders of the church to anoint them with oil and pray for their healing. The prayer of faith will save the sick.  James 5:14-15
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Romans Road Part 2

The Universal Guilt of Man
All of Mankind is Guilty Before God

A. Both Jew and Gentile

B. Paul argues this because the Religious people of the world tend to believe they have done nothing wrong and that it is all rest who need to be helped.

C. Paul  begins with the Gentiles.

1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

1. The Unreligious World is guilty of rejecting God

2 Proofs of God

  • Creation – the “Big Bang” has now demonstrated what scientist wanted to deny, that the universe had a beginning. If there was a beginning, then something or someone had to begin it.

  • Our beings as humans –

The human body demonstrates design, DNA itself shows that we are a computer of sorts that had to be programmed by someone.
Our ability to think, reason, love, feel, create, and desire to worship all point to the Creator that made us.

Atheists argue against God because of the existence of evil, pointing to pain and suffering.

If there is evil, then there has to be good.
If there is good, then there has to be moral law that defines goodness.
If there is moral law, then there has to be a lawgiver. There must be a God who gives that law.

Atheist argue against religion claiming that more have been put to death  in the name of religion than any other thing.
This ignores the 20th Century in which 100 million were put to death in the name of a Secular State.
China put 65 million to death in the name of Atheistic Communism.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,
30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;
32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

2. The Religious World is Guilty of Rejecting God

1 Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.

A. Judging means to condemn, (be accusing others to condemn a person on account of their sin.)
Point a finger and 3 are pointing back at you.

B. There is a difference between judging and discernment. We are to discern what is sinful, but we are to love the sinner.

C. God will judge us by 4 Standards -

Truth v. 2 – an objective standard of conduct

Deeds v. 6 what we did in obedience or disobedience to God. Remember breaking on law one time makes us guilty before God.

The light received vv. 11-15 –

The Gospel v. 16 - by which the secrets thoughts and motives of men are judged.

D. When we are held against this standard we are all found lacking.

3:4 Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: "That You may be justified in Your words, And may overcome when You are judged."
10 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one;
11 There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God.
12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one."
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

3. God has provided our salvation by His Grace through Faith
21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
22even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9not of works, lest anyone should boast.

4. Good works follows our salvation.

Good works don’t cause our salvation, good works are the result of our being saved.
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

The Romans Road
“All roads lead to Rome” was the saying in the days of the Roman Empire.
Paul felt called to go to Rome and preach the gospel. There he witnessed to the Emperor himself and won many of the lieutenants to the Lord.

Paul wrote this letter in advance of his going.

Rome was the capitol of the Empire.

Rome was the hub of the then known world.

Rome included all the cultures, races, religions, languages, tribes, and languages of the then known world.

This letter became the greatest statement of theology ever written. It is the basis of what we need to know to be saved and to live a Christian life.

The Gospel

It all begins with the Gospel.

Without the Gospel, it is just another religion.

Religions attempts to show us how to live and do good works so we can find God. Sadly, none ever do through religion of any kind.

Christianity starts with the Good News, God came to us, revealed Himself to us as a man, died for our sins, rose from the dead. Believe in Him and He will give you righteousness by faith.

Romans 1

 Four Things about the Gospel

1. It’s Distinction

v. 1 “Separated unto the gospel of God (Christ).”

A. The Gospel separates us from the world.

1. A Royal Priesthood, A Holy Nation, Special People, that you may show forth the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9

2. Children of the Bondwoman (slave), born of the flesh, the law or works,  or children of the free, born through the promise. Galatians 4:22

The two covenants –
Old and New –
Law and Grace –
Flesh or Promise -

B. Two kinds of People in the World

Saved – Born of the Spirit by Promise

or Unsaved – Slave of the flesh attempting good works to be made righteous.

C. Being made righteous is never about our works, it is always an act of God’s Grace.

“For by grace you have been saved though faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.”

Either saved or unsaved. Either going to Heaven or not going to Heaven.

No purgatory to pay your way out of; Jesus paid the debt and all we do is receive Him and His righteousness by faith.

II. It’s Conviction

v. 14-15

“I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise. So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also.”

A. The Gospel employs us.

1. We have what people need.
2. We received it freely.
3. Now we need to share it freely with all that we   can.
4. Their eternal life is at stake.

B. Paul risked and ultimately gave his life, as did all the Apostles except John, to preach the Gospel.

C. God calls us all to be witnesses.

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you shall be my witnesses”

They all were baptized in the Spirit and filled with the Spirit, and they all spoke God’s praises in tongues, not just the Apostles.

3. It’s Description

A. Promised through the Prophets – A Savior who would crush the head of the serpent.
B. Fulfillment  of the scriptures – Biblical.
C. The Son of God – the only begotten Son of God.
Born of the Holy Spirit.
D. David’s Seed – Royal Right to the Throne of David – Israel.
E. Declared to be the Son of God by the Resurrection.
F. The source of Grace – through His blood. “whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood.” Romans 3:25

4. It’s Prescription

A. The Power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. V. 16
B. In it the Righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. V. 17
C. All need to be saved. Vv. 18-32
1. Suppress the truth- v. 18
2. Ignored all the facts and evidence – v. 19-24
3. Exchanged the truth for the lie – v. 25
4. Became debased in their thinking – v. 26-28
5. Embodied a culture of sin – v. 29-32

WHAT IS A PEOPLE GROUP?
An ethno-linguistic group with a common self-identity that is shared by the various members. For strategic purposes it is the largest group within which the Gospel can spread without encountering barriers of understanding or acceptance.

WHO ARE THE UNENGAGED?
Unreached people groups are unengaged (UUPG) when there is no church planting strategy, consistent with evangelical faith and practice, under way. Gathering believers and planting churches are the keys to establishing an effective and multiplying presence among these people groups.

Every Tribe, Tongue, People, and Nation will Receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ, then the Lord will Return!
When the last soul that will respond receives Christ, the Lord will return!
It’s Harvest Time
What are we doing to bring in the Harvest?

Why the Storm?
Jesus said it rain on the good and the bad, the righteous and the unrighteous. He sent His disciples into a storm. They were there by the will of God. Why?

I. The Storm Tests Your Faith

Luke 14:19 And another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.’

John 6:6 But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.

Testing shows us where we are at in the process of learning. God wants us to see where we are at in our faith so we can learn to trust Him more.

Peter had faith to walk on the water in the storm, but the other disciples did not. Peter learned a lot about his faith in the storm.

1 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?--unless indeed you are disqualified.

•Testing produces patience.

James 1:3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

These testings prepare us for what lay ahead.

Patience is the ability to suffer or put up with a circumstance, situation, or person for a long time. It is the ability to mange your emotions, temper and trust that God is working in the process to accomplish His good will. It is the ability to kiss a person when you feel like smacking them.

•Testing of our Faith Gives God Glory, Praise and Honor

1 Peter 1:7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

People don’t care about our successes, but when we suffer, they watch and listen to see how God works in us in the tough times. More are convinced by our suffering through tough times and finding God’s grace than by our mountain top experiences.

God will reveal our heart of faith at the judgement seat of Christ and reward us for our faithfulness to Him.

•Testings Keep us Humble

1 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.

In good times we tend to forget how much we need God. We run in our own strength instead of His strength.

God uses the storms to keep us seeking and depending on Him. Without Him we are an open target for the deceptions of the enemy, so God keeps us close to Him so we won’t be harmed.

II. The Storm Teaches You About Jesus

God reveals Himself to us in new ways when we are in the storm.

Jesus showed that He was above the water and could walk on it.

Jesus showed that He was above the storm and could calm it at His Word.

Jesus showed that He was God and the disciples worshipped Him.

God will use the storm to teach us things about Himself that we never understood. It is one thing to learn from a text book, and another thing to learn from experience.
•Paul’s thorn in the flesh.
Paul discovered that when God didn’t remove the thorn in his flesh, whatever it was, that God’s grace was sufficient for him.

He learned the grace of God in daily way and it has instructed all of us.

III. The Storm Transports You into God’s Plan
A.Storms bring changes that move you into God’s Plan.

Acts 8:1 Now Saul was consenting to his death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.•
•B. Phillip began a ministry of Evangelism
•The Lord is in Control of our Storms
•What is God speaking to you in the storm?
•How is God using the storm to give you opportunities to witness?
•Are you willing to say “yes Lord, use me,” in your storm?

End Time Harvest
Rebuilding the Temple

The Greatest Harvest of Souls

In History

History of the Jewish Temple

1. Tabernacle built by Moses in the Desert

2. 1st Temple built by Solomon in the City of David

3. 2nd Temple built by Zerubabbel, Ezra and Nehemiah

4. 2nd Temple rebuilt by King Herod just prior to the birth of Jesus, the Savior of the World.

Concept of Herod’s Temple

Jesus Prophesied the Destruction
of Herod’s Temple Fulfilled in 70 AD

Luke 21:5 Then, as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and donations, He said, 6 “These things which you see—the days will come in which not one stone shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down.”

Josephus, Jewish Historian commissioned by the Romans to write the history of the Jews, witnessed the destruction of the Temple so great that you would not have believed that it was ever there.

The idea of a Western Wall of the Temple would contradict both Josephus and Jesus Christ.

The Temple will Be Rebuilt

Richman sees the temple through the eyes of the prophet Isaiah who wrote 3,000 years ago that God's house would be called a house of prayer for all nations

"Even them I will bring to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations." (Isaiah 66:7)

"It means there's a God in the world and that the best is yet to come – Source CBN News http://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/israel/2017/may/six-day-war-victory-rekindled-hope-for-the-third-temple
Daniel 9:26 "And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate."

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

The Problem

The Traditional Temple Mount is Now

The Mosque of Omar – Islam’s 2nd Most Holy Site

Josephus Described the traditional Temple Mount as the Roman Garrison Housing up to 3000 People, a small city. The Temple Mount area is the size of the average Roman Fortress.

Temple Mount at Threshing Floor By the Gihon Springs in the City of David – 1000 Feet South of the Traditional Temple Mount.

The Location of the City of David was lost in history and then incorrectly mapped until recent discoveries show it to be in the present area as mapped above.
The Temple was in Zion,  the City of David.

2 Samuel 5:7 Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion (that is, the City of David).
8 Now David said on that day, "Whoever climbs up by way of the water shaft and defeats the Jebusites
Joel 3:17 "So you shall know that I am the Lord your God, Dwelling in Zion My holy mountain. Then Jerusalem shall be holy, And no aliens shall ever pass through her again.“

This again places Zion, the City of David, as the Temple site.

The Priests washed in the Gihon Springs to be cleansed before entering the Temple.

Why would they walk ¼ of mile before entering the Temple and risk becoming unclean again?

Gihon means Gusher – John 5:4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. The Pool of Siloam

The Historian Josephus placed the Temple in this area. Historians said he had it wrong. Why? He was there.

He described what is thought to be the Temple Mount as the Fortress Antonius, Roman Fortress.

Bedrock is under the western wailing wall.
Archeologist found a coin buried under the wall that dated to 20 AD.

Herod, the builder of the Temple died in 4 BC.

Early Christian tradition said The Rock in the Dome was the place where prisoners stood in judgement by the Roman Governor.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;
15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation--as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you,
16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.
17 You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked;
18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

1. Be Aware
Life is temporary so don’t hold on too tightly.

2. Be Absolute
Live for Christ. Live a lifestyle that glorifies God.
Live with Purpose.

3. Be Available
Lead others to Christ. Hasten the day of the Lord. The Latter Rain is for the Harvest.

4. Be Anticipating
Jesus promised us a mansion in Heaven. He said if it were not so He would tell us. He said He is preparing place for that where He is we may be also.

5. Be Amiable
Resolve all conflicts between you and others. Be at peace in all of your dealings with people.
Forgive those who have hurt you and confess your sins to those you have hurt.

6. Be Alert
We all have clay feet and can be led astray. The world , the flesh and the devil constantly pound on  us to not stay faithful to the Lord. Don’t fall away from Christ.

7. Be Advancing
Grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord. Remain a disciple, ever learning from the Lord. Stay thirsty for His Word and His Spirit.

End Time Harvest

Wars and Rumors of Wars

Matthew 24: 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

The Prophetic Plan of the Ages

Daniel Prophesied 490 Years of God’s Dealing with the Jews.
483 Years from the Command to Rebuild Jerusalem to the Sacrifice of the Messiah
450 BC to 33 AD
24 "Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.
25 "Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times.

26 "And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.

1. The Early Rain was for Harvest

Early and Latter Rain were all about the Harvest.

Early Rain softened the ground for planting.

Latter Rain brought the harvest to fullness after a long dry harvest season.

 Acts 1:4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which," He said, "you have heard from Me;
5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."
6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?"
7 And He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Acts 2:3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.
18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.

James 5:7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.
8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

2. The Latter Rain Being Poured Out in the Last Century

God is preparing the earth for one last worldwide great harvest of new believers for the Kingdom.

Transportation
Internet Communication
Language Barriers Broken

It is estimated that of the 7.2 billion people alive in the world today, 3.0 billion of them live in unreached people groups with little or no access to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. According to Joshua Project, there are approximately 16300 unique people groups in the world with about 6500 of them considered unreached. The vast majority (95%) of these least reached groups exist in the 10/40 window and less than 10% of missionary work is done among these people.

2 Peter 3:3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts,
4 and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation."
5 For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,
6 by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water.

7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

"And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications:
"And they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn" (Zechariah 12:9-10).

Spirit of Grace

The Holy Spirit

1. Speaks of Jesus
2. Convicts of sin, judgment, and righteousness
3. Speaks of the Forgiveness in Christ

Spirit of Supplication

The Hebrew word for "supplication" signifies "an olive branch wrapped with wool, or some kind of cloth, waved by a supplicant seeking peace or surrender." These were called "branches of supplication." Simply put, they were flags of surrender. They signified a cry of total, unconditional surrender.

Confidence

con·fi·dence
ˈkänfədəns/
noun
noun: confidence
the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust.
"we had every confidence in the staff"
synonyms:  trust, belief, faith, credence, conviction
"I have little confidence in these figures"
    antonyms:  skepticism, distrust
the state of feeling certain about the truth of something.
"it is not possible to say with confidence how much of the increase in sea levels is due to melting glaciers"
a feeling of self-assurance arising from one's appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities.

Latin – Confidere >Confidentia > Confidence English – To have full trust

Confidence
What Is Confidence? (According to Psychologists)
Confidence can be described as a belief in one's ability to succeed. Striking a healthy balance can be challenging. Too much of it and you can come off as cocky and stumble into unforeseen obstacles, but having too little can prevent you from taking risks and seizing opportunities—in school, at work, in your social life, and beyond.

The World Robs us of Confidence
Started in the Garden – “has God really said?”
Satan attempts to steal our confidence in God and then make us overly confident in ourselves.
“if you eat you will be like God knowing good and evil.”
Here are just a few headlines for articles

The World robs our Sense of Confidence

Unbelief and cynicism strip us of the confidence that God wants us to have. Questions like “How do I know that I exist?”

Abuse and neglect cause us to feel unimportant and unlovable.

Social rejections, relationship failures, and not achieving our goals makes us feel unable to succeed.

Not Overconfidence

I can jump off a tall building and the Lord will catch me unharmed.

I don’t have to work because God will provide.

I can drink this poison or play with a deadly snake because God said no harm will come to me.

NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Confidence is a Byproduct of Receiving Christ

1 John 5:1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Confidence is based on complete trust in God as a Father, Friend,  and Advocate.
God is love and His perfect love casts out all fear.

It is about trusting God as a Promise giver. It is complete trust that God will keep His Word.

It is about being confident that we can do what ever He asks us to do because He will give us the grace needed to accomplish the task.
Remember Moses – “I can’t speak…I stutter.”

We Know in 1 John

John is the Gospel of belief. 1 John is the Gospel of Confidence.

1 John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.

1 John 2:5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

1 John 2:18 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.

Resistance to our testimony is the confirmation that we know the Lord. The spirit of the world resists the Spirit of God in you.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.

1 John 3: 16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

1 John 3:19 And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.

1 John 3:24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

1 John 4:6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

1 John 4:13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

1 John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.

1 John 5:15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

1 John 5:18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.

1 John 5:19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

1 Timothy 1:12 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

Satan wants to steal your confidence in God. He wants to imprison you in fear, guilt, shame and a sense of worthlessness.

Jesus came to set you free.

He offers true confidence based on a relationship of love, God’s love for you!

The Good Life Part 6
God is Love

1 John 4

I. Knowing God Through Love
71 John 3:10, 11, 23Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who 1 Thess. 4:9; (1 John 3:14)loves is born of God and knows God. 8He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9Rom. 5:8In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Is. 9:6, 7; John 3:16Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10In this is love, Titus 3:5not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son 1 John 2:2to be the propitiation for our sins. 11Beloved, Matt. 18:33if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

A. Only a born again believer can show the love (agape) of God. It is a fruit of the Spirit of God living in us.
Difference between a Christmas Tree (adorned with our own good works, and a fruit tree, adorned with the fruit of the creator.)
B. God manifested (unveiled the secret) of His love in sending His Son to die for our sins.
C. God first loved us and we must first know and experience His love before we can show His love.

II. Seeing God Through Love
12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. 13By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. 14And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. 15 5Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

A. God showed Adam love by giving Adam Eve. The love that we experience from other people, that are  made in the image of God, let’s us know the character of God, love.
B. God demonstrated His love for us by giving us His only begotten Son to die for our sins.
C. God made us know His love by sending His Spirit to live in our hearts and He bears witness that we are children of God, loved by the Heavenly Father.

3. Facing God in His Love
17Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19We love Him because He first loved us.

A. Love is fully developed, completed, in Christ.
B. The Lord forgives all our sins the day we receive Him and then helps us to live like Him on this earthly pilgrimage.
C. No longer do we live in fear of God because perfect (finished love) casts out all fear.
D. Our love for Him is in response to His first loving us.

4. Showing Faith by Love
Obedience by Faith
20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? 21And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.

A. If we are truly born again, we will love others who are born again in God.
We share the same Spirit. Deep calls unto deep.
As we are being led by the Spirit, He will lead us to love our brothers and sisters in Christ. If we have no love for God’s people, then we are not born again.
B. 2 Commandments for the Christian –
Believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior
Love your brothers and sisters in Christ.

The Good Life Part 5
Studies in Life More Abundantly

1 John 4

1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

1. Identify Spiritual Deception

A. Many False Prophets are in the world.

B. The Test
What do they believe concerning the incarnation of Jesus Christ?
The Biblical Teaching of the Incarnation

God was manifested to us in the Man, Jesus the Christ.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John left no doubt what he was saying.
Jesus Christ is God who became a man to be our Savior, Lord and Messiah.
All that reject Him as God, Savior, Lord and Messiah are of another spirit. They are false prophets.

Counterfeit Money –
Bank teller are trained to identify a fake by handling the real, that causes them to know when a fake is in their hands.
We are to so know and understand Jesus Christ, Our God and King, that we immediately sense when a fake is among us.

Confesses Jesus Christ has come in the flesh.

“For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Matthew 12:34; Luke 6:45
Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Who was in the world denying Jesus was God who came in the flesh during the days of John?

1. Atheists - The history of atheism can be dated to as early as the 5th century B.C. Diagoras of Melos was a 5th century BC. Greek atheist, poet and sophist. The word atheism itself was not coined until the 16th century.

Following information taken from the website, www.argumentsforatheism.com
Hinduism is generally speaking a very theistic religion, but the Carvaka school that originated in India around 6th Century BC was probably the most explicitly atheistic and materialistic school of philosophy in India. It explicitly rejected the doctrine of Vedas and denied the notion of a creationist god or an afterlife.

Other Indian philosophies generally regarded as atheistic include the more orthodox Classical Samkhya and Purva Mimamsa schools of Hinduism. Both Jainism and Buddhism also reject the idea of a personal creator God, although they may not be considered explicitly atheistic.

The 5th Century BC Greek philosopher Diagoras of Melos is sometimes referred to as the "first atheist", and he strongly criticized religion and mysticism. Critias, an Athenian statesman and uncle of Plato, viewed religion as a human invention used to frighten people into following moral order. Atomist philosophers in the 5th Century BC, such as Leucippus and Democritus, attempted to explain the world in a purely materialistic way, without reference to the spiritual or mystical.

Western atheism has its roots in pre-Socratic Greek philosophy, particularly in the Milesian philosophers of the 6th Century BC: Thales, Anaximander and Anaximenes. They were the first to reject mythological explanations for rational, naturalistic ones, and introduced the then revolutionary idea that nature could be understood as a self-contained system - the rudimentary origins of science.

Democritus specifically explained that the indivisible atoms that he believed made up everything in the universe had existed forever, so that the earth had never been "created" as such by any God or gods. A century later, Epicurus was the first to expound on the Problem of Evil, and explicitly argued against the existence of life after death.

Atheist – Circle Represents All-Knowledge

Atheist object to the idea of God because if there was a loving God then why is there evil and suffering?

The question proves that there is God. Without a moral law giver, why would anyone believe in good and evil.

The idea of goodness is based on the Christo-Judaic culture given by God to Adam and passed on through the Patriarch, Prophets and Apostles.

In some cultures people are taught to love their neighbor, in other cultures they are taught to eat their neighbor.

Without a moral lawgiver, who is to say who is right.

It become the rule of relativism.

2. Paganism

Nimrod taught the world not to trust in God because God could not be trusted according to Josephus, the Jewish Historian.

He then built the tower of Babel so the world could save itself in the event of another flood.
He invented the religion of paganism, making man into gods, an placed those images in the top of the tower so they could reach unto the “heavens.”

Genesis 11:4 And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth."

19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

3. Gnosticism
Gnosticism comes from the Greek work gnosis, for knowledge. From the first century b.c. to the fifth century a.d., Gnostics believed in secret knowledge, whereas the Jews and Christians were free and public about disclosing the truth divinely revealed by God.

Gnostics believed that the material world was evil and the only way to salvation was through discovering the “secrets” of the universe. This belief flew in the face of Judaism and Christianity, both of which believed that God created the world (Genesis) and that it was good, not evil. Keeping revelation secret wasn’t meant to be; rather, it should be shared openly with others.

Docetism

Docetism, a spin-off from Gnosticism, comes from the Greek word dokesis, meaning appearance. In the first and second centuries a.d., Docetists asserted that Jesus Christ only appeared to be human. They considered the material world, including the human body, so evil and corrupt that God, who is all good, couldn’t have assumed a real human body and human nature. He must have pretended.

The Gnostic antagonism between the spiritual and the material worlds led Docetists to deny that Jesus was true man. They had no problem with His divinity, only with believing in His real humanity. So if that part was an illusion, then the horrible and immense suffering and death of Jesus on the cross meant nothing. If His human nature was a parlor trick, then His Passion also was an illusion.

Above taken from http://www.dummies.com/religion/christianity/catholicism/what-are-gnosticism-and-docetism/

Who is in the world denying that Jesus is the Christ today?

1. All of the above.

Paganism is in revival, atheism is growing in Western society, and the Gnostic philosophers are being reintroduced and accepted in many of the spurious books being revived such as the Gospel of Mary Magdalene.

2. The Christian Cults

Any church that teaches that Jesus is not God who became a man and that teaches things contrary to the truth of the scriptures believing that tradition, culture, or their version of scientific beliefs are superior to the Bible.

For more information see Walter Martin’s Book, The Kingdom of the Cults.

II. Comprehend Your Power

4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them.
6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

A. The Power of the Holy Spirit living in you!
B. The Power of the Word of God given to us by God through the Apostles.
If it doesn’t agree with the Bible, it should be rejected.
Doctrines is based on:
1. Context
2. No singular reference, but a total flow of the scriptures.
3. No private interpretation. The Bible interprets itself.

Spiritual Warfare!
The Battle Belongs to the Lord!
I. The Lord is our Warrior!
“The Lord your God is in your midst, A Warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with joy; He will be quiet in His love [making no mention of your past sins], He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.
ZEPHANIAH 3:17 AMP

II. Our Enemy is not  Human!
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.
EPHESIANS 6:12 AMP

III. Our Enemy is Satan and his Troops.
Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.
EPHESIANS 6:11 AMP
Satan seeks to devour Christians
Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour.
1 PETER 5:8 AMP
IV. Satan uses Schemes   and Deceit to Distract   and Destroy
And no wonder, since Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. So it is no great surprise if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, but their end will correspond with their deeds.
2 CORINTHIANS 11:14‭-‬15 AMP
V. Satan has an army.
Fallen Angels
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was standing in opposition to me for twenty-one days. Then, behold, Michael, one of the chief [of the celestial] princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.
DANIEL 10:13 AMP
Demonic spirits
“Let us alone! What business do we have [in common] with each other, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are--the Holy One of God!”
LUKE 4:34 AMP
Familiar sprits
It happened that as we were on our way to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave-girl who had a spirit of divination [that is, a demonic spirit claiming to foretell the future and discover hidden knowledge], and she brought her owners a good profit by fortune-telling.
ACTS 16:16 AMP
VI. Christ in You is More Powerful than   Satan and his army
Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God and you belong to Him and have [already] overcome them [the agents of the antichrist]; because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind].
1 JOHN 4:4 AMP
Christ gives us freedom
So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.
JAMES 4:7 AMP

I. LOVE GOD AND
LOVE ONE ANOTHER
Mark 12:30
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment.
Mark 12:31
And the second, like it, is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

II. Speak the Truth in Love
Ephesians 4:15
but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—
Ephesians 4:16
from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.uA. Three Questions Before We Speak:
1. Is it necessary?
2. Is it edifying?
3. Is it true?

III. LOVE Fervently with a Pure Heart!
I Peter 1:22 (NKJV)
Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,
1 Corinthian 13:4- 7
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
1 Corinthian 13:4- 7

Making 2017 Great! Fellowship!
Fellowship!
2 or More People in the Same Ship!
Koinonia – Communion

Songs – What a Fellowship What a Joy Divine
  Leaning on the Everlasting Arms
  The More We Get Together

I. Fellowship is God’s Design

It is not good that man should dwell alone.
William Penn discovered that isolating prisoners doesn’t rehabilitate, but instead drives people insane.
Adam and Eve needed each other.
God needed fellowship, so He made us in His image and likeness for fellowship.
God walked each evening with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
Life is better with others.

II. Fellowship is Our Connection with God
1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life--
2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us--3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.
Matthew 18:18-19
Jesus said, “Where two or three of you are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of you.”
Whatever two or three of you agree on earth, it shall be done for you by my Father which is in Heaven.

III. Fellowship affords Victory

Jesus said, “I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

The Church is the People of God, not the building or organization. Each believer is a living stone in God’s Temple.
Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor.
10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.
11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

IV. Fellowship is for Everyday Life

Acts 2: 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
We don’t eat once a week.
God Feeds Us Through His Word and Others

Ephesians 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ--
16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

V. Fellowship is Forever

Ephesians 1:9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,
10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth--in Him.

What a fellowship what a joy divine
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms
What a blessedness what a peace is mine
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms

I’m leaning leaning leaning on the Everlasting Arms,
Leaning leaning leaning on the Everlasting Arms!

 Making 2017 Great!
Prayer
 Pray continually, for Leaders,
for all People,
Everywhere lifting holy hands without fear and doubt.
 Prayer Makes a Difference
James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

 Negative Praying
Mathew 6:5 "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
 Negative Praying
James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
 Negative Praying
  Mark 11:23 NKJV
23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
 Negative Praying
Matthew 6:7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
8 Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

 Positive Praying
James 5:13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.
14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
 Positive Praying
Matthew 18:18 Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
19 Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."
 The Lord’s Prayer
 In this manner pray –
 Note – Manner –
The emphasis is on the way, not the words.
This is a model of prayer.
 1. Personal Relationship
Our Father - Abba Father
Dear Daddy
Respectfully- Never rude or disrespectful

 2. Present in Heaven
Who art in Heaven
Access to the throne of Grace
The veil was rent
Enter through the veil if His blood

 3.Perfect God
Hallowed be Thy Name
He is Holy
Name refers to character -
His character is Holy in all ways

 4. Purposefully
Praying is the means to God's will and kingdom on earth.
God gave man authority over earth.
Our prayers secure God's will and rule on earth. It releases God to intervene in this world.
The purpose of prayer is God's will and Kingdom.

 5. Provision for the day
God wants us to daily lean upon Him.
God gave manna each day to Israel in the wilderness.
Our needs keep us seeking Him. It makes us aware of Who He is as He supplies our needs.
He is the One who gives power to make wealth.
Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened to you.   6. Putting Away Sins
Forgive us a our sins, debts, trespasses as we forgive those who sin, have debts, have trespassed against us.
By the blood of Jesus we have forgiveness available, but we need to receive it through prayer.
Bitterness is a prison that binds us and impedes our prayers.

 6. Protection from the Evil One

Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Satan is a real enemy.
He hates God and all that serve Him.
He wants to be God.
He stirs our flesh to distract us.
In the garden Jesus said pray that you not be tempted.

 7. Praise Him

For Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen
For being the King
For being all powerful
For being the Glorified One
We need to focus on giving Him glory. He deserves all the glory. Powerful Praying
Acts 1:5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.“
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

 Powerful Praying
  Romans 8:26 NKJV
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
 Powerful Praying
1 Corinthians 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.

Making 2017 Great!

FAITH
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith is a choice, not a feeling!

Faith is based on facts, not a fantasy!

By Faith we understand

3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Eden Discovered
Youtube Captain Black
 https://youtu.be/jjuYYFn1cXk?t=2031
God’s existence has only been confirmed by science, not denied.
It is not blind faith, but trusting in the One that created us.
Trusting that Father knows best.
Purified by Faitth
 Acts 15:9 NKJV
9 and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
Sanctified by Faith
Acts:2618 to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.
Live by Faith
Romans 1:17 NKJV
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."
 Galatians 2:20 NKJV
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Justified by Faith
 Romans 3:28 NKJV
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.
Saved by Faith
 Ephesians 2:8 NKJV
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Access to God’s Presence
 Romans 5:2 NKJV
2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Faith come by hearing God’s Word
 Romans 10:17 NKJV
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Stand by Faith
 Romans 11:20 NKJV
20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.
2 Corinthians 1:24 NKJV
24 Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are fellow workers for your joy; for by faith you stand.
Walk by Faith
 2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Receive the Holy Spirit by Faith
 Galatians 3:2 NKJV
2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

A NEW YOU! 2017

Makeovers for the New Year!

Resolutions
Weight
Savings
Habits
Friendships
Education
Job

What Does God Promise Us?

God Promises a New You!
Mark 2:22 (NKJV)
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”

God Promises New Wine in New Wineskins!
Not Rehabilitation – Recreation!
In Christ We Died and Rose to a New Life
Galatians 6:15 (NKJV)
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.
New You in the Likeness of Christ
Ephesians 4:24and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Not Saved by Our Works and Righteousness
We can’t have this New Life through the Law and traditions of men.
Galatians 3:24 (NKJV)
Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

God Promisess Us a New Heart!
Ezekiel 36:26 NKJV
26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
John 3:3 NKJV
3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
1 Peter 1:23 NKJV
23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,

Romans 8 NKJV
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

1 Corinthians 2
9 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him."
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

How Do We Make It Count?

I. Fellowship with Family
3 So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.
4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David,
5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.
Family is God’s First Institution
Family gives us an anchor in life
Family honor brings God’s promises
Family keeps us focused
Family make sense

II. Focus on Jesus
A. It is His birthday we celebrate
B. He is God who became a man
C. He fulfilled all the prophecies
D. He came to seek and to save the lost
E. He gave the greatest Christmas Gift

III. Forgive and Forget the Hurts
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
14 "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"
Peace happens when forgiven
1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. Romans 5
32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Ephesians 4

God Gave a New Command!
1 John 3:23And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
2 Commands
1. Believe on the Name of Jesus Christ God’s Son
2. Love One Another – As Christ loved us!

God Gives us a New Song!
Psalms 96:1 (NKJV)
Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Praise Him with the drums, the lyre, play skillfully unto the LORD! Make a joyful noise unto the LORD!

God Promises a “New Heaven and New Earth”!
II Peter 3:13 (NKJV)
Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
Romans 8:20For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.

Prophecies Fulfilled in the Christmas Story
The Son Given
For Unto Us A Child is Born
Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; NAS
Written in the 8th Century BC, this fulfilled prophecy again provides evidence that the Bible is God’s Word and to be trusted.
Given – Delivered up, inflicted, appointed
Christ was born for us -all people
Swaddling Clothes were the grave clothes showing Christ was appointed to die for us
God’s Christmas Gift to Us
1 John 4:9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
The Government will be upon His shoulders
God is already the King over all things
But Christ will come to put down all of Satan’s rebellion and bring true peace and righteousness to this world.
There is no manmade Utopia!
His Name is called
Wonderful Counselor
Wonderful
marvel wonder (extraordinary, hard to understand thing)
wonder (of God's acts of judgment and redemption)

14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
Prince of Peace
completeness, soundness, welfare, peace
Ephesians 2:14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
He Is in Control
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Jeremiah 31:15:
This is what the Lord says: 'A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because her children are no more.'
Herod Kills all Males 2 and Under
Matthew 2:16-18:
When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:
God Protected His Son in Egypt
Hosea 11:1: When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son.
Matthew 2:14-15 So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: 'Out of Egypt I called my son.'
Luke 1
76 And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; For you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, 77 To give knowledge of salvation to His people By the remission of their sins,
78 Through the tender mercy of our God, With which the Dayspring from on high has visited us;
79 To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace."
The Dayspring from On High
John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
The Light Shines in Darkness

Prophesies Fulfilled in the Christmas Story
The Seed of Woman
Genesis 1:12 NKJV
12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Dogs have dogs and  Cats have cats, apples produce apples, corn produces corn, etc.
Genesis 3:15 NKJV
15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."
Satan Tempted Eve – Adam Transgressed
The word “seed” is also translated “semen”
in people men carry the “seed” – but here God said the “Seed of Woman” would crush the head of the serpent.
Head means the Chief of a system, top of the mountain, the originator and controller. This is a reference to Satan who was in the snake charming Eve to disobey God and eat of the forbidden fruit.
God was saying that Satan entered human society through the woman and through the woman the new offspring would come that would destroy Satan and his works.
Genesis 12: 3
I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Genesis 21:12 NKJV
12 But God said to Abraham, "Do not let it be displeasing in your sight because of the lad or because of your bondwoman. Whatever Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice; for in Isaac your seed shall be called.
The promise of the “Seed” was passed on to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah and then David.
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Isaiah 53:10 NKJV
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

The Greek word for "only begotten" is monogenes, the very form of which clearly denotes "only generated." As monotheism connotes only one God and monosyllable means a word of only one syllable, so monogenes means only one genesis or only one generated--or, more simply, only begotten. It does not mean "one," or even "one and only.“ Used from IRC.org
Mary, the Virgin With Child of theHoly Spirit
Matthew 1:20
… "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit…
22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:
23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."

Galatians 4:4
But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

Thanksgiving  Why Give Thanks?

1. For His Wonderful Works Psalm 75:1
Creation speaks of the designer –
Psalm 9:1; Isaiah 25:1
Atheists and Agnostic scientist are now admitting that our Universe could only exist by design.
DNA demonstrates that there is a designer Psalm 139:14
DNA is the blueprint or all living things. Like a computer hard drive it contains the software information needed to form living things and maintain them.
If we are stretching out the material of a pinhead into a wire with the same thin diameter as a DNA molecule it would have a length more than 30 times around the equator.
Laminin – God’s Glue that Holds Us Together

2. For He is Good –
1 Chronicles 16:34; Psalm 118:1
His lovingkindness endures forever – Isaiah 12:1

3. For His Ordinances are Righteous
Psalm 119:62
The ordinances and statutes reveal God's will and his understanding of what it means to do good, seek justice, and correct oppression.
Give thanks for His truth
Psalm 138:2
The Ten Commandments = LOVE

4. For it is the Right thing to do
Psalm 140:13; 118:19; Luke 17:8
We have a moral obligation to give God thanks
2 Thessalonians 1:3; 2:13
he Ten Leper Healed – Where are the others? Jesus asked.

5. For Christian Fellowship
Ephesians 1:16; 1 Thessalonians 1:2
Romans 16:4

6. For He delivers us
Psalm 18:48-49; 2 Samuel 22:49-50

Rescues us – 1 Corinthians 15:57

7. For this is the will of God concerning you
1 Thessalonians 5:18 Hebrews 13:15

Job – the Lord gives and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord.

It is called a “sacrifice of praise” that is the fruit of our lips, the giving of thanks

8. For it defines our testimony
Psalm 79:13

Attitude of Gratitude

It becomes our reputation –

Are we “Gripers or Praisers?”

9. For it is the Lord’s example
John 11:41; Luke 22:17; John 6:23; Mark 14:22;
Matthew 15:36;

10. For the Peace of God
 Colossians 3:15

“Let the peace of God (the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him) be the controlling factor of your heart.

Giving thanks bring us into an awareness of His Presence

“Thankful Prayer Brings Peace”
 Rick Warren
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

11. For Salvation
 Colossians 1:12
He has qualified us to partake of the inheritance with the saints

12. For His Wisdom and Power
Daniel 2:23
James 1 – “If any lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all men liberally”
Wisdom is the right application of knowledge

Judges Generational Cycles - Revival to Apostasy

Judges 2:7 So the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the Lord which He had done for Israel.

8 Now Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died when he was one hundred and ten years old.

9 And they buried him within the border of his inheritance at Timnath Heres, in the mountains of Ephraim, on the north side of Mount Gaash.

10 When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel.

11 Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the Baals;

12 and they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; and they followed other gods from among the gods of the people who were all around them, and they bowed down to them; and they provoked the Lord to anger.

13 They forsook the Lord and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.

14 And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel. So He delivered them into the hands of plunderers who despoiled them; and He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.

•Patterns of Generational Cycles

•Incomplete Conquest ch 1

•Manasseh did not drive out Beth Shean – v. 27

•Israel did not completely drive out the Caananites – v. 28

•Ephraim did not drive out the Caananites – v. 29

•Zebulun did not drive out the inhabitants of Kitron - v. 30

•Asher did not drive out the inhabitants of Acco – v. 31-32

•Naphtali did not out Beth Shemesh, Beth Anath – v. 33

•Dan was forced in to the mountains by the Amorites – v. 34-36

•Incomplete Obedience = Mediocrity

•They Settled - Accepted Good for Great

•Settling brings Slavery

Judges 2:1 Then the Angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said: "I led you up from Egypt and brought you to the land of which I swore to your fathers; and I said, 'I will never break My covenant with you.

2 And you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars.' But you have not obeyed My voice. Why have you done this?

3 Therefore I also said, 'I will not drive them out before you; but they shall be thorns in your side, and their gods shall be a snare to you.' "

4 So it was, when the Angel of the Lord spoke these words to all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voices and wept.

5 Then they called the name of that place Bochim; and they sacrificed there to the Lord.•USA Rich, but Unhappy

•The Lord is our Deliverer

Judges 2: 16 Nevertheless, the Lord raised up judges who delivered them out of the hand of those who plundered them.

17 Yet they would not listen to their judges, but they played the harlot with other gods, and bowed down to them. They turned quickly from the way in which their fathers walked, in obeying the commandments of the Lord; they did not do so.

18 And when the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed them and harassed them.

19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they reverted and behaved more corruptly than their fathers, by following other gods, to serve them and bow down to them. They did not cease from their own doings nor from their stubborn way.•God Gave  Spirit Empowered Judges

•The Spirit of the Lord came upon Othiniel – 3:10 enabled him to deliver Israel from the King of Mesopotamia

•The Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon who delivered God’s people from the Midianites. 6:34 Gideon’s 300 – Clay Pots

•The Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah – 11:29 – who delivered Israel from the Amonites.

•The Spirit of the Lord empowered Samson – 13:25 who delivered Israel from the Philistines. 14:6; 14:19; 15:14,15

God Delivers Us by the Holy Spirit

Romans 8:4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.•

Joshua•Possessing the Promises of God•

Jericho Discovered

The Outline of Joshua

I. Preparing for the Inheritance    1:1-5:15

II. Possessing the Inheritance 6:1-  12:24

III. Partaking of the Inheritance   13:1-22:34

God’s Recipe for Victory
God knew what it would take for Joshua to lead the people into victory.
Chapter 1 gives us God’s Recipe for Victory!

•I. Past Reference
“Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all the people, to the land which I am giving to them – the children of Israel.” 1:2•History Repeats Itself
Founding Fathers Give Us a Reference Point
God’s Word is our Plan
Moses Received God’s Word•Observe what God Said
“v. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you”…

•II. Place from God
•3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you as I said to Moses.
•4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hitties, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory.
•5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.
•The Christian’s Place
Matthew 28
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them  to observe all things that I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.
•God has a place for you!
1 Corinthians 7
17 And don't be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else. Where you are right now is God's place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there. …•God place is where you are!
•It’s Your Inheritance
•V. 5 Be strong and of good courage for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
•III. Purposed Focus
7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it….•Our Eyes Determine our Direction
•IV. Prosperity Mentality
8 b For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.
God wants us to be Prosperous•Fruitfulness is God’s Plan for Us
•V. Persuaded Conviction
•9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage, do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, fo rthe Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
•“Be Strong” chazaq means
•Courageous, valliant, manly, strengthened, established, firm, fortified, obstinate, mighty,
•Encouraged – David encouraged “chazaq” himself in the Lord – strengthened himself, fortified himself in the Lord. 1 Samuel 30:6
•VI. Positive Commitment
•10 Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people saying
•Joshua commanded -
•Like a surgical team – Positive and Committed
•Positive Commitment Persuades People
•16 So they answered Joshua saying, “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go
•17 Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the Lord your God be with us as He was with Moses.

PASTORS Appreciation Day

PASTOR
Today We Appreciate Pastor Ken and Ruth
Hebrews 13:7 (MSG) Appreciate your pastoral leaders who gave you the Word of God. Take a good look at the way they live, and let their faithfulness instruct you, as well as their truthfulness. There should be a consistency that runs through us all.
Pastor Ken and Ruth we Thank You! •What is a Pastor

Preacher, Patient, Parent, Planter
Attentive, Available, Affable, Accountable
Strong, Singer, Shepherd, Steady
Teacher, Truthful, Talented, Teller
Overseer, Overcomer, Outreacher, Oracle
Real, Relational, Responsible, Restorer

Why should we appreciate our Pastors?

I. Given by the Lord as a Gift to the Church
Ephesians 4:10
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

When you Appreciate Pastors
You are appreciating God.

Thank you Lord for the gift of our Pastors
Appreciating God and His Gifts Brings Joy
Appreciation for God’s Gifts Brings Emotion
Appreciation for God’s Gifts Brings Amazement
Pastor Ken and Ruth are Gifts from the Lord

II. Guides the Church into Ministry
Ephesians 4
[to shepherd and guide and instruct], [and He did this] to fully equip and perfect the saints (God’s people) for works of service, to build up the body of Christ [the church];

A. The Pastor teaches and guides,
the people work to build up the Body.
Jesus trained 12 who trained others until they turned the world upside down.
B. Perfects means to fully equip for the mission.
Like a coach preparing the players for the game.
C. Saints refers to all Christians.
Pastors build up the Saints who then build up the Church.
Sheep produce sheep. He's the Shepherd, we are the Sheep.

III. Grow us spiritually
13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things,

A. None of us has arrived yet
B. God takes us the way we are
but conforms us to the image of Christ.
C. What we don’t use, we loose.

IV. Generate the full expression of Christ to the world
which is the head, even Christ:
16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

A. Pastors teach us Doctrine for Unity and Stability
B. None of us has it all. Pastors guide us to our place in the body of Christ
Together we Express Christ to the world.
Today let’s appreciate our Pastors!
Hebrews 13:17 (MSG) Be responsive to your pastoral leaders. Listen to their counsel. They are alert to the condition of your lives and work under the strict supervision of God. Contribute to the joy of their leadership, not its drudgery. Why would you want to make things harder for them?

Fulfilling the Great Commission

The Gospel

I. The Gospel of the Kingdom

•Matthew 4:23 NKJV

23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.

The King Is Here

•Mark 1:15 NKJV

15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."

The Messiah is With Us Heal and Liberate

•Luke 4:18 NKJV

18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

The Messiah is In the Midst of Us

•Matthew 18:20 NKJV•20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

II. The Gospel of Jesus Christ

1 Corinthians 15: 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand,

2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

•Christ Died for Our Sins

•Christ was Buried  v. 4

•Christ was Buried for 3 Days and Night

•Christ Rose from the Dead v. 4

•Christ was see by over 500 v. 5

III. The Gospel’s Power

•Romans 1:16 NKJV

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

POWER OF SAVLATION

Soteria –

•Definition -deliverance, preservation, safety, salvation

deliverance from the molestation of enemies

in an ethical sense, that which concludes to the souls safety or salvation

      of Messianic salvation

salvation as the present possession of all true Christians

future salvation, the sum of benefits and blessings which the Christians, redeemed from all earthly ills, will enjoy after the visible return of Christ from heaven in the consummated and eternal kingdom of God.

Fourfold salvation: saved from the penalty, power, presence and most importantly the pleasure of sin. A.W. Pink

The Condition – Believes – Romans 10

13 For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!"

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

October 9,2016 Eastgate Church Marion, IN
Missions
Fulfilling the Great Commission
I. In Our Going

Matthew 28:18-20
The Great Commission
16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated.17 And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted [that it was really He].18 Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,20 teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually--regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”
Acts 1:7-8
He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority.8 But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 2:6-8
6 And when this sound was heard, a crowd gathered, and they were bewildered because each one was hearing those in the upper room speaking in his own language or dialect.7 They were completely astonished, saying, “Look! Are not all of these who are speaking Galileans?8 Then how is it that each of us hears in our own language or native dialect?
Acts 2:41-42
41 So then, those who accepted his message were baptized; and on that day about 3,000 souls were added [to the body of believers].42 They were continually and faithfully devoting themselves to the instruction of the apostles, and to fellowship, to eating meals together and to prayers.
II. In our Praying
Ephesians 6:10-12
10 In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might.11 Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.
Ephesians 6:18-20
18 With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God’s people.19 And pray for me, that words may be given to me when I open my mouth, to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news [of salvation],20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. And pray that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly and courageously, as I should.
Matthew 7:7-11
7 “Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened.9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will [instead] give him a stone?10 Or if he asks for a fish, will [instead] give him a snake?11 If you then, evil (sinful by nature) as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give what is good and advantageous to those who keep on asking Him.
III. In Our Giving
Philippians 4:15-20
15 And you Philippians know that in the early days of preaching the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone;16 for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs.17 Not that I seek the gift itself, but I do seek the profit which increases to your [heavenly] account [the blessing which is accumulating for you].18 But I have received everything in full and more; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent me. They are the fragrant aroma of an offering, an acceptable sacrifice which God welcomes and in which He delights.19 And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.20 To our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen

The Gift of Encouragement

I. Loving others makes encouragement profitable – 1 Corinthians 13

Exodus 28:34 (NKJV)
a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hem of the robe all around.

1 Corinthians 14:1-5
1Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. 2For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. 3But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. 4He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. 5I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.

II. Leverage encouragement for the good

Psalms 64:5 (NKJV)
They encourage themselves in an evil matter; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, “Who will see them?”

III. Lending encouragement strengthens others

Deuteronomy 1:38 (NKJV)
Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there. Encourage him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
Deuteronomy 3:28 (NKJV)
But command Joshua, and encourage him and strengthen him; for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which you will see.’
II Samuel 11:25 (NKJV)
Then David said to the messenger, “Thus you shall say to Joab: ‘Do not let this thing displease you, for the sword devours one as well as another. Strengthen your attack against the city, and overthrow it.’ So encourage him.”

IV. Labor to encourage others in the faith

I Thessalonians 3:2 (NKJV)
and sent Timothy, our brother and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you and encourage you concerning your faith,

A. Faith comes by hearing the Word and hearing the Word of God. Romans 10:17

B. Sharing God’s Word in an encouraging way causes people to grow in their faith.

C. Listen to these encouraging thoughts from God’s Word.
I Corinthians 15:16 (NKJV)
For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen.
Philippians 1:21 (NKJV)
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
I Timothy 6:6 (NKJV)
Now godliness with contentment is great gain.
Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Matthew 11:30 (NKJV)
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
John 11:23 (NKJV)
Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
Acts 10:13 (NKJV)
And a voice came to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”
Acts 15:31 (NKJV)
When they had read it, they rejoiced over its encouragement.
Acts 27:36 (NKJV)
Then they were all encouraged, and also took food themselves.

D. Make a list of things that were said to you that encouraged you in the faith and to do the will of God. Share those things with others.

V. Learn to encourage yourself
1 Samuel 30:
6Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

The Love of God

I. God is Love I Corinthians 13:4-8a

Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.

II. How Does God Show Us His Love?

1. Jesus’s’ Incarnation, Crucifixion and Resurrection
John 3:16 “16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

2. Jesus’s Intercession
Hebrews 7:25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Romans 8:34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

3. The Spirit’s Manifestation
Romans 8:26Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
1 John 4:13By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

4. God’s Predetermination
Romans 8:28And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

5. God’s Determination
Romans :837Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 10: 27My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Love never quits or gives up.
Phil. 1:6being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

III. The Effects of God’s Love

A. Peace with God
Romans 5:1Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
1 John 4:17Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19We love Him because He first loved us.

B. Assurance of our Salvation –
1 John 5:13These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

C. Desire to Be Loving
1 John 4:7Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8He who does not love does not know God, for God is love

Where in the World Are We Headed? Part 13

The Ages of Ages! Revelation 21-22

I. Heaven Moves to Earth!

1 THEN I saw a new sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former sky and the former earth had passed away (vanished), and there no longer existed any sea. [Isa. 65:17; 66:22.]
2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband;
3 Then I heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live (encamp, tent) among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God. [Ezek. 37:27.]

II. Hearts are Mended Eternally!

4 God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish (sorrow and mourning) nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away. [Isa. 25:8; 35:10.]
5 And He Who is seated on the throne said, See! I make all things new. Also He said, Record this, for these sayings are faithful (accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy) and true (genuine). [Isa. 43:19.]
6 And He [further] said to me, It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I [Myself] will give water without price from the fountain (springs) of the water of Life. [Isa. 55:1.]
7 He who is victorious shall inherit all these things, and I will be God to him and he shall be My son.

III. Holiness is the Modeled Environment!

1 THEN HE showed me the river whose waters give life, sparkling like crystal, flowing out from the throne of God and of the Lamb
2 Through the middle of the broadway of the city; also, on either side of the river was the tree of life with its twelve varieties of fruit, yielding each month its fresh crop; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing and the restoration of the nations. [Gen. 2:9.]
3 There shall no longer exist there anything that is accursed (detestable, foul, offensive, impure, hateful, or horrible). But the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall worship Him [pay divine honors to Him and do Him holy service]. [Zech. 14:21.]5 And there shall be no more night; they have no need for lamplight or sunlight, for the Lord God will illuminate them and be their light, and they shall reign [as kings] forever and ever (through the eternities of the eternities).

IV. Hope Creates Expectation!

7 And behold, I am coming speedily. Blessed (happy and to be envied) is he who observes and lays to heart and keeps the truths of the prophecy (the predictions, consolations, and warnings) contained in this [little] book.
8 And I, John, am he who heard and witnessed these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell prostrate before the feet of the messenger (angel) who showed them to me, to worship him.
9 But he said to me, Refrain! [You must not do that!] I am [only] a fellow servant along with yourself and with your brethren the prophets and with those who are mindful of and practice [the truths contained in] the messages of this book. Worship God!
10 And he [further] told me, Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book and make no secret of them, for the time when things are brought to a crisis and the period of their fulfillment is near.
11 He who is unrighteous (unjust, wicked), let him be unrighteous still; and he who is filthy (vile, impure), let him be filthy still; and he who is righteous (just, upright, in right standing with God), let him do right still; and he who is holy, let him be holy still. [Dan. 12:10.]
12 Behold, I am coming soon, and I shall bring My wages and rewards with Me, to repay and render to each one just what his own actions and his own work merit. [Isa. 40:10; Jer. 17:10.]
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last (the Before all and the End of all). [Isa. 44:6; 48:12.]
14 Blessed (happy and to be envied) are those who cleanse their garments, that they may have the authority and right to [approach] the tree of life and to enter through the gates into the city. [Gen. 2:9; 3:22, 24.]
15 [But] without are the dogs and those who practice sorceries (magic arts) and impurity [the lewd, adulterers] and the murderers and idolaters and everyone who loves and deals in falsehood (untruth, error, deception, cheating).
16 I, Jesus, have sent My messenger (angel) to you to witness and to give you assurance of these things for the churches (assemblies). I am the Root (the Source) and the Offspring of David, the radiant and brilliant Morning Star. [Isa. 11:1, 10.]
17 The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, the true Christians) say, Come! And let him who is listening say, Come! And let everyone come who is thirsty [who is painfully conscious of his need of those things by which the soul is refreshed, supported, and strengthened]; and whoever [earnestly] desires to do it, let him come, take, appropriate, and drink the water of Life without cost. [Isa. 55:1.]

V. The Holy Bible is Established!

18 I [personally solemnly] warn everyone who listens to the statements of the prophecy [the predictions and the consolations and admonitions pertaining to them] in this book: If anyone shall add anything to them, God will add and lay upon him the plagues (the afflictions and the calamities) that are recorded and described in this book.
19 And if anyone cancels or takes away from the statements of the book of this prophecy [these predictions relating to Christ's kingdom and its speedy triumph, together with the consolations and admonitions or warnings pertaining to them], God will cancel and take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the city of holiness (purity and hallowedness), which are described and promised in this book.

20 He Who gives this warning and affirms and testifies to these things says, Yes (it is true). [Surely] I am coming quickly (swiftly, speedily). Amen (so let it be)! Yes, come, Lord Jesus!

Where in the World Are We Headed?  Part 12

The End of Evil on Earth-Revelation 20

I. The Incarceration of the Devil

1 THEN I saw an angel descending from heaven; he was holding the key of the Abyss (the bottomless pit) and a great chain was in his hand.
2 And he gripped and overpowered the dragon, that old serpent [of primeval times], who is the devil and Satan, and [securely] bound him for a thousand years.
3 Then he hurled him into the Abyss (the bottomless pit) and closed it and sealed it above him, so that he should no longer lead astray and deceive and seduce the nations until the thousand years were at an end. After that he must be liberated for a short time.

II. The Resurrection of the Great Tribulation Martyrs

4 Then I saw thrones, and sitting on them were those to whom authority to act as judges and to pass sentence was entrusted. Also I saw the souls of those who had been slain with axes [beheaded] for their witnessing to Jesus and [for preaching and testifying] for the Word of God, and who had refused to pay homage to the beast or his statue and had not accepted his mark or permitted it to be stamped on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived again and ruled with Christ (the Messiah) a thousand years. [Dan. 7:9, 22, 27.]
5 The remainder of the dead were not restored to life again until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed (happy, to be envied) and holy (spiritually whole, of unimpaired innocence and proved virtue) is the person who takes part (shares) in the first resurrection! Over them the second death exerts no power or authority, but they shall be ministers of God and of Christ (the Messiah), and they shall rule along with Him a thousand years.

III. The Elimination of the Devil

7 And when the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his place of confinement,
8 And he will go forth to deceive and seduce and lead astray the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth–Gog and Magog–to muster them for war; their number is like the sand of the sea. [Ezek. 38:2, 9, 15, 22.]
9 And they swarmed up over the broad plain of the earth and encircled the fortress (camp) of God's people (the saints) and the beloved city; but fire descended from heaven and consumed them. [II Kings 1:10-12; Ezek. 38:2, 22.]
10 Then the devil who had led them astray [deceiving and seducing them] was hurled into the fiery lake of burning brimstone, where the beast and false prophet were; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever (through the ages of the ages).

IV. The Implementation of God’s Judgement

11 Then I saw a great white throne and the One Who was seated upon it, from Whose presence and from the sight of Whose face earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.
12 I [also] saw the dead, great and small; they stood before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged (sentenced) by what they had done [their whole way of feeling and acting, their aims and endeavors] in accordance with what was recorded in the books.
13 And the sea delivered up the dead who were in it, death and Hades (the state of death or disembodied existence) surrendered the dead in them, and all were tried and their cases determined by what they had done [according to their motives, aims, and works].
14 Then death and Hades (the state of death or disembodied existence) were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
15 And if anyone's [name] was not found recorded in the Book of Life, he was hurled into the lake of fire

A. Born once, die twice; Born twice, die once.
B. God is not willing that any should perish. For anyone to end up in this state, they have to kick over the many series of road blocks that a loving Father in Heaven puts up to prevent this conclusion.
C. God give us free will and by His Holy character must respect it.
D. In this judgement all will be proven guilty whose names are not in the Book of Life.
E. It is not by our righteousness, which is life filthy rags, but by His righteousness that we are saved by grace through faith. When a person receives Jesus, their name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
F. The question is, “Is your name written in the Book of Life?” “Where will you spend eternity
G. You can receive Jesus and His gift of salvation right now by simply opening the door to your heart for Christ to come in. This can be done in simple prayer. Here is a sample prayer to help you.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for coming to earth to die for my sins. I confess my sins to you and know that I am not deserving of any favor from you, but I know that you love me and promised to forgive me of sins. I ask you to cleanse of all of my unrighteousness and make me fit and holy before You and Your Father. I believe that you rose from the dead and that if I put my faith and trust in you, that I rise in the resurrection and live with you in Heaven forever. So I do that now. Thank you for coming into my heart. I know that you cannot lie and that right now You have written my name Your Book of Life. I look forward to living with you forever and ever in Heaven.
In Jesus Name, Amen!

If you have just prayed the prayer with sincerity, you are saved. You are now born again, a child of God, and destined to spend eternity with Christ in Heaven. We would like to share some helpful information with you about your new found faith in Christ. Please contact through our website and we will send a booklet to you free of charge. Where in the World Are We Headed? by Pastor Rod Buzzard, D. Min.

Revelation 19 - The Marriage Supper of the Lamb

I. The Heavenly Exultations

1After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! 2For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” 3Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” 4And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!” 5Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!”

6And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

9Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” 10And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

II. The Heroic Earner

11Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

III. The Holy Execution

17Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, 18that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.”

19And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
